Procreation...Those living through the peak of their sexual drive will complain that the impulse is too powerful to ignore. This is also self-indulgence. The spiritually competent can focus their energy to suit their purposes. The challenge of sexuality is a challenge of discipline, and it can be mastered. Of course, the mantra of the modern age is "use it or lose it." Again, this is nonsense. "Use it or lose it" only applies to those without self-control. True, once you have discipline, it is harder for someone to jerk your sexual chain. People with a prurient interest will find that they don't get the response they expect. But that isn't necessarily bad: who wants to be manipulated? More importantly, self-control implies the ability to direct your energy to suit your lover's pleasure. The plateau may be harder to reach, but once you get there, it opens a new realm of experience. I once described it as a "vibration in every fiber of your being." We (my lover and I) have on occasion passed beyond corporeality, into a pure apprehension of our sentience. People, don't "Just say 'No'!" Reach for something better. Romance Rules! Sex Sucks! (I.e. - is a spiritual drain.) Let's have pins and buttons on display. |
